drink water first
If you are having food cravings, then before eating anything, drink a full glass of water and then wait for 10 minutes. Many times your cravings go away automatically. This happens because sometimes the brain mistakes the body’s thirst for hunger. Drinking water hydrates the body, reduces the feeling of false hunger and helps you avoid unnecessary snacking.
no compromise with sleep
Often people do not get enough sleep and this also increases their food cravings. Actually, getting less sleep increases ghrelin hormone and decreases leptin hormone. This imbalance increases the cravings for junk food, especially the cravings for carbs and sweets increase manifold. Therefore, make sure to take 7-8 hours of sleep daily.
do mindful eating
If you want to avoid unnecessary food cravings, then eating mindfully is definitely a good idea. You should always eat slowly and without any distraction. Actually, when you do mindful eating, your brain understands that your stomach is full. By eating too quickly, these signals get confused and later one feels like eating something again, even if the stomach is full.
