Nowadays smartphones have become an important part of our lives. We often start scrolling on our phones as soon as we get free time. Lifestyle expert Luke Coutinho says that scrolling is not bad in itself, but when we keep doing it continuously without thinking even in boredom or happiness, it becomes harmful for our brain.
What is the real cause of brain fatigue?
According to Luke Coutinho, the real problem is ‘overstimulation’. When our nervous system is overloaded with too much noise and information, our brain becomes fatigued. To overcome this fatigue, we often start watching another video, due to which hours of time are wasted. To deal with this, he has suggested some easy ‘micro-rituals’ of 60 seconds, which can give instant peace to your mind.

5-5-5 reset
One way to calm the mind is the ‘5-5-5 reset’. In this you have to breathe slowly through the nose 5 times, inhale for 5 seconds and exhale for 5 seconds.
sun check
Another effective method is ‘Sun Check’. Just leave your phone for 60 seconds, go to a window and look at the sky. Taking morning sunlight is most beneficial in this.
Gratitude Walk
You can also do a ‘gratitude walk’, which involves walking for 2 minutes from one corner of your house to the other and remembering someone you are grateful for.
music
Apart from gratitude walk, listening to your favorite song also acts like ‘medicine’. Luke says that just listening to music without doing anything else is the quickest way to calm the nervous system.
feeling of security
Making yourself feel safe is also important for health. For this, place one hand on the chest and the other on the stomach and say for 30 seconds, ‘I am safe now.’

right way to drink water
Water should be drunk like medicine by sipping it slowly. This reduces the nervousness of the mind. You can also send a short message (without emoji) to someone close to you, which provides relaxation to the body.
Declutter rule of 10 things
Luke recommends a ‘declutter ritual’. Pick up 10 things scattered around you and slowly place them in their right place. Organizing things brings peace to the mind. Luke says not to fight yourself to quit scrolling, but to give your tired brain the option of rest instead of entertainment.
