According to reports, SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket will carry the Europa Clipper spacecraft into space. To reach Europa, the spacecraft will have to travel 2.9 billion kilometers. The cost of this entire mission is said to be 5 billion dollars, the purpose of which is to investigate the conditions present for life under the icy surface of Europa.
Europa is the only celestial body outside the Earth, about which all scientists believe that Europa has a huge ocean, which has more water than the oceans present on Earth. If Europa spacecraft is able to discover something like this, it will be a major success for scientists.
Many high-tech instruments of NASA have been installed in the Europa spacecraft, which include high-resolution cameras, radars working in ice, magnetometers etc.
Spacecraft will reach after 6 years
Europa spacecraft, being launched in the year 2024, can reach Jupiter by the year 2030. According to reports, the spacecraft will fly near Europa about 49 times. It will scan Europa from a very low altitude so that detailed information about the moons of Jupiter can be obtained.
The success of the Europa mission will be known in the next decade. If spacecraft are able to find the possibility of life there, it will also shape our understanding of aliens.
