The journey of worship during Ramadan is as much for men as it is for women. But women have to go through natural processes like periods every month. In such a situation, the question often arises whether fasting should be observed during these days? Taking special care of the health and convenience of women, Islam has given exemption from fasting and namaz during periods. This is not a punishment, but a relief given by Allah so that there is not too much burden on the body.
What does the rule say?
According to Islamic Shariat, it is not necessary for women to fast during their periods. Fasts that are missed during these days can be made up (Kaza) at any time after the end of Ramadan. As soon as the periods are over, the woman should take Ghusl (sacred bath) to purify herself and resume her prayers and fasting. If periods start during fasting, then fasting should be stopped at that time and it should be compensated later.

take care of health first
From a medical point of view, many hormonal changes occur in the body during periods, due to which women may feel pain, fatigue and weakness. In such a situation, being hungry and thirsty the whole day can spoil your health. In Islam, human well-being and health have always been kept at the top, that is why no matter which corner of the world, Muslim women easily follow this natural law.

One can get reward even without fasting
Even though namaz and fasting are prohibited during periods, it does not mean that women cannot pray. They can remember Allah, pray, read religious books and help the poor or do charity (Sadaqa). Through these noble deeds, they can remain a part of the blessings and rewards of Ramadan even during their periods.
