According to the World Health Organization (WHO), every year around 300,000 women lose their lives due to pregnancy or delivery. In addition, more than 2 million children die in the first month of their life and about 2 million children are born dead. This is a very large and tragic figure, which shows about 1 stop death every 7 seconds.
According to existing trends, by 2030, maternal survival (saving the life of mother and newborn after delivery and taking care of them, so that they stay healthy and survive) 4 out of 5 countries are away from tracks to meet the goals of improvement. In addition, 1 out of 3 countries will fail to meet the goals of reducing newborn death. This is a very big challenge that we have to face together.
