The calendar lists a total of 24 public holidays and 31 restricted holidays. The official notice specifies that no additional holidays will be granted if any festival, event, or birth anniversary of a notable figure coincides with a pre-existing holiday. In 2025, 14 holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays, meaning individuals will not enjoy extra days off for these occasions.

UP School Holiday Calendar 2025: List of Restricted Holidays
The Uttar Pradesh government has also provided a list of restricted holidays for 2025. These are optional holidays that employers may or may not provide, and schools or colleges may observe these days to honor significant historical or cultural events.
With 2025 not being a leap year, the calendar will include a total of 365 days. While the year 2024 had 366 days, the next leap year will occur in 2028. The holiday schedule provides a mix of cultural, national, and religious holidays, ensuring a balanced acknowledgment of India’s diverse traditions.
